Senior Quantity Surveyor

Water & Utilities Infrastructure

Hybrid Working: Up to 3 days per week from home

We’re looking for an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to take a leading role on a large‑scale utilities infrastructure programme, delivering projects across clean water and wastewater treatment works. This role suits a commercially driven professional looking for autonomy, flexibility and long‑term programme stability.

This position is a senior consultancy role, acting in a client‑facing commercial and advisory capacity within a regulated utilities programme.

Role Overview

You will oversee the commercial delivery of complex projects, provide leadership to project teams, and act as a key commercial interface with internal and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead commercial management of utilities and civil engineering projects
  • Cost forecasting, budgeting and financial reporting
  • Managing and administering NEC contracts
  • Overseeing valuations, change management and final accounts
  • Supporting procurement strategy and subcontract management
  • Providing commercial guidance to delivery teams
  • Managing risk and ensuring commercial best practice

About You

  • Strong experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor within utilities, water or civil engineering
  • In‑depth knowledge of NEC contracts (ECC)
  • Experience delivering projects across treatment works or major infrastructure programmes
  • Consultancy or contractor background preferred
  • Confident managing stakeholders and mentoring junior staff
