Senior Quantity Surveyor - Groundworks

We are currently working with a well-established and growing groundworks and civil engineering contractor who is looking to appoint an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team based out of their head office in Iver.

This is a key hire for the business, offering the opportunity to take full commercial responsibility for a number of live projects across the residential and commercial sectors.

The Role

As Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for managing projects from pre-construction through to final account, ensuring strong commercial performance across all schemes.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Full commercial management of groundworks packages
• Preparing and managing budgets, forecasts, and CVRs
• Leading on valuations, variations, and final accounts
• Managing subcontractor procurement and accounts
• Pricing and agreeing variations with clients
• Working closely with operational teams to drive project performance
• Supporting pre-construction where required, including involvement in estimating/pricing

Requirements

To be considered, you must have:

• Proven experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor within groundworks or civil engineering contractors
• Strong knowledge of self-delivered groundworks packages (drainage, earthworks, infrastructure, RC, etc.)
• Ability to manage your own projects independently
• Demonstrable experience in pricing and managing variations
• Solid understanding of commercial reporting and cost control
• Additional estimating experience would be highly advantageous
