Role Overview
We are working with a well-established contractor who is looking to appoint a Quantity Surveyor to support their Northern operations.
This is a hybrid role, split between office, site, and home working, with an initial project based in Stoke. The position would suit someone based within a commutable distance of both Tamworth and Stoke.
Key responsibilities
As Quantity Surveyor, you will take commercial responsibility across projects, supporting delivery teams to ensure financial performance and contractual compliance.
- Managing project costs from pre-construction through to final account.
- Producing valuations, variations, and final accounts.
- Reviewing and analysing subcontractor quotations.
- Preparing and issuing subcontract payments and certifications.
- Carrying out cost reporting and forecasting.
- Identifying and managing commercial risks.
- Supporting dispute resolution where required.
- Ensuring compliance with contractual, quality, and safety standards.
About You
To be considered, you should have a solid commercial background within civil engineering or infrastructure projects.
Requirements:
- Experience working on heavy civils schemes.
- Strong understanding of NEC contracts.
- Confident managing subcontractors and commercial processes.
- Good communication and negotiation skills.
- Strong numeracy and IT capability.
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel regionally.
