Managing Quantity Surveyor – Water Sector

A well established and growing consultancy within the UK water sector is looking to appoint a Managing Quantity Surveyor to lead commercial delivery across key projects from their Reading office.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Quantity Surveyor looking to take full ownership of project commercial management, lead a team of QS professionals, and shape project outcomes within a supportive consultancy environment.

The role
As the Managing Quantity Surveyor, you will take full responsibility for the commercial and contractual aspects of clean and wastewater projects across the full project lifecycle. You will lead cost management, contract administration, forecasting, reporting, and change control, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget.

A significant part of the role involves NEC contract management, including compensation events, risk management and client reporting. You will also mentor and guide Senior and Junior Quantity Surveyors, building commercial capability across the team.

What they are looking for
• Extensive experience at Senior or Managing Quantity Surveyor level
• Background within water, utilities or civil engineering projects
• Strong NEC contract experience is essential
• Proven leadership and team management skills
• Confident in client engagement and commercial decision making
• Chartered or actively working towards chartership
• Ability to attend the Reading office 2 to 3 days per week

Salary and package
£75,000 to £85,000 depending on experience, plus a comprehensive benefits package and continued support with chartership and professional development.
