Enable Resourcing is recruiting for an Estimator – Earthworks & Civils to join a growing civil engineering contractor based in Chippenham, Wiltshire, specialising in earthworks and associated infrastructure packages.

This role is ideal for an engineer with approximately 1–3 years’ site experience who is looking to transition into an estimating and pre-construction position.

You will support the pricing and tendering of earthworks and civils schemes, producing accurate, competitive and commercially sound submissions.

Key Responsibilities

As Estimator, you will support the preparation of tenders from initial enquiry through to final submission.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Reviewing drawings, specifications and technical documentation

• Carrying out quantity take-offs

• Assisting with pricing of earthworks and civils packages

• Supporting development of cost estimates and build-ups

• Liaising with site teams, planners and subcontractors

• Obtaining and analysing supplier and subcontractor quotations

• Supporting value engineering and cost planning exercises

• Preparing tender clarifications and supporting bid documentation

• Attending pre-tender meetings where required

• Assisting with handover of successful tenders to delivery teams

• Supporting development of cost databases and estimating systems

You will work closely with operational and commercial teams to ensure tenders are technically accurate and commercially robust.

About You

To be considered, you will have:

• Approximately 1–3 years’ site experience within civil engineering or earthworks

• Experience in an engineering role such as Site Engineer or Graduate Engineer

• Strong understanding of earthworks, groundworks and construction methodologies

• Good numerical and analytical capability

• Strong communication skills and team-focused approach

Desirable:

• Civil Engineering or Construction qualification

• Experience using Excel or estimating software
