We are recruiting for a Quantity Surveyor to join a specialist contractor delivering demolition and enabling works across complex Central London projects. This role is ideal for a commercially focused individual with 2–5 years’ experience who wants hands‑on exposure to early‑phase construction works. 

In this position, you will work on challenging schemes while developing your career within a growing and ambitious business.  

Typically, projects range from £5m to £30m+. They include demolition, structural alterations, basement construction and enabling works. Importantly, these schemes are delivered on constrained, high‑value urban sites across Central London. 

Role Overview 

As a Quantity Surveyor, you will support the commercial delivery of demolition and enabling works packages from preconstruction through to final account. Working closely with site teams and senior leadership, you’ll be involved in both live project delivery and tendering activity on upcoming schemes. 

This is a predominantly a site-based role in Central London, with the flexibility to work from home depending on workload and the stage of the programme. Candidates based in Oxford or the surrounding area will be of particular interest due to increasing project enquiries within the region. 

Key responsibilities  

• Commercial management of demolition and enabling works projects 

• Cost control, forecasting and cash flow reporting 

• Preparing valuations and applications for payment 

• Managing variations, change control and final accounts 

• Supporting procurement of subcontract packages 

• Working closely with site and delivery teams on live projects 

• Assisting with tendering and preconstruction activities 

About You  

This role will suit an ambitious Quantity Surveyor who is keen to build long‑term experience within the demolition and enabling works sector. 

Ideally, you will have: 

• 2–5 years’ experience as a Quantity Surveyor or Assistant Quantity Surveyor 

• Experience in demolition, enabling works, groundworks or heavy civils (preferred) 

• A proactive and hands‑on approach 

• A willingness to work in a site‑based role 

• Strong communication skills and commercial awareness 

• A desire to grow with a business and take on greater responsibility
