Assistant Engineer – Major Civils & Structures

Enable Resourcing is recruiting for an Assistant Engineer to join a leading civil engineering contractor delivering major civils and structural works in Seascale, Cumbria.

This is an excellent opportunity for a graduate or junior engineer to develop within a major infrastructure environment, supporting engineering teams across complex civils and structural packages.

The role offers exposure to both site-based and technical coordination responsibilities, providing strong career development within a structured project environment.

Key Responsibilities

As Assistant Engineer, you will support the engineering and technical delivery of civil engineering and structural works.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Assisting with setting out and surveying activities

• Reviewing drawings and technical documentation

• Supporting resolution of design queries

• Assisting with inspections and quality assurance processes

• Maintaining accurate site records and documentation

• Supporting preparation of as-built drawings

• Assisting with temporary works coordination

• Supporting subcontractor, materials and plant coordination

• Ensuring compliance with health and safety procedures

• Supporting reporting and engineering documentation

You will work closely with Site Engineers and Project Teams to ensure works are delivered accurately, safely and in line with programme requirements.

About You

To be considered, you will have:

• Some experience within civil engineering or construction environments

• Exposure to major civils or structural projects (desirable)

• A proactive and organised approach to work

• Strong communication and willingness to learn

Desirable:

• Civil Engineering or relevant construction qualification

Required:

• CSCS card

Advantageous:

• Full UK driving licence
