Role Overview

We’re working with a growing civil engineering contractor who has secured a major infrastructure scheme near Eastbourne. They’re now looking to bring in a Senior Quantity Surveyor to take a leading role on the project.

The scheme involves highways and bridge works and is currently underway, with an expected programme duration of around 18 months with further work to follow.

This is a great opportunity to step into a key commercial position on a technically interesting project, with real input into delivery and performance.

Key Responsibilities

• Running the commercial side of the project day-to-day.
• Keeping a close eye on costs, budgets, and forecasts.
• Managing subcontractors from procurement through to final account.
• Handling valuations, payments, and variations.
• Identifying risks early and putting plans in place to manage them.
• Supporting with dispute matters if they arise.
• Helping to develop and guide more junior team members.
• Making sure everything is delivered in line with company and project standards.

About You

• Experience working as a Senior Quantity Surveyor on civil engineering projects.
• Background with a main contractor.
• Strong knowledge of NEC contracts.
• Experience on infrastructure, highways or structures schemes.
• Confident dealing with subcontractors and clients.
• Commercially aware and comfortable making decisions.
• Good communication skills and a practical approach to problem-solving.
• Able to travel when required (regional role).
