The Opportunity
A leading groundworks subcontractor is seeking an experienced Project Manager to join their team on a major project in Bridgwater (Agratas). This is a key position within a large-scale development, offering full responsibility for delivering groundworks and civils packages within a fast-paced and high-profile environment. This role will take ownership of project delivery from mobilisation through to completion.

The Role
The successful candidate will be responsible for the full lifecycle delivery of groundworks and civil engineering packages, including earthworks, drainage and substructure works. You will manage overall project performance, overseeing site teams, engineers, subcontractors and suppliers to ensure works are delivered safely, on programme and within budget.

You will take ownership of programme planning, sequencing and resource allocation, ensuring all works are effectively coordinated to meet key milestones. Responsibilities include managing subcontractor performance, driving productivity on site, monitoring progress and proactively resolving technical, operational and logistical challenges.

You will be accountable for health, safety, environmental and quality compliance across all site activities, ensuring RAMS, permits and company procedures are implemented and maintained. The role will also involve close coordination with commercial teams, taking responsibility for cost control, variations, reporting and financial performance throughout the project lifecycle.

Strong client liaison is essential, maintaining effective communication with stakeholders, attending progress meetings and ensuring the successful delivery of project objectives.

About You
The ideal candidate will have proven experience operating as a Project Manager within groundworks or civil engineering, with strong technical knowledge of drainage, earthworks and substructure packages. You will demonstrate a successful track record of delivering projects from start to finish, managing programmes, budgets and site teams effectively. Strong leadership, communication and organisational skills are essential, alongside relevant qualifications such as SMSTS and a valid CSCS card.
