Kilnbridge is looking to appoint an Assistant Estimator to support the delivery of major structures and heavy civils projects across London and the South East. The business is currently delivering schemes with values ranging from £20m to £150m, offering exposure to some of the most technically challenging projects in the region.

This role would suit an Assistant Estimator with around 2 years’ experience who is keen to develop within a contractor known for its collaborative culture and hands‑on approach.

Role Overview
As Assistant Estimator, you will support the estimating and pre‑construction team across multiple tenders and live projects. Working closely with senior estimators, commercial teams and site delivery teams, you will assist from early engagement through to tender submission and project handover. This is a site‑based role, with flexibility depending on workload and tender stage.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Supporting the preparation of tenders on structures and heavy civils projects valued between £20m and £150m
• Measuring and quantifying works from drawings, specifications and technical information
• Assisting with cost plans, rate build‑ups, pricing schedules and take‑offs
• Liaising with subcontractors and suppliers to obtain, analyse and compare quotations
• Maintaining and updating cost databases, benchmarks and historical pricing information
• Supporting value engineering exercises and risk identification during tender stages
• Assisting with pre‑construction meetings and handovers to delivery teams
• Working closely with site teams to understand construction methodologies and cost drivers

About You

Ideally, you will have:

• Around 2 years’ experience in an estimating or commercial role
• Exposure to civil engineering, structures or infrastructure projects
• Strong numerical, analytical and organisational skills
• Confident using Excel and comfortable working with cost data
• Proactive, detail‑focused and keen to progress within estimating
• Comfortable working in a site‑based environment
