Managing Engineer – Civil Engineering & Groundworks

Enable Resourcing are recruiting on behalf of our client for a Managing Engineer – Civil Engineering / Groundworks to support projects across the M3 / M4 corridor.

This role will suit an experienced engineering professional who can lead the engineering function on site, manage technical delivery, and provide strong support to project teams across active groundworks and civil engineering schemes. The successful candidate will be expected to oversee setting out, QA processes, technical compliance, and engineering coordination, while also supporting and guiding site engineers where required.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead engineering delivery across live civil engineering and groundworks projects
• Manage site engineering teams and ensure technical standards are maintained
• Oversee setting out, as-built records, QA documentation, and engineering controls
• Review drawings, specifications, and technical information to support accurate delivery
• Resolve site-based technical issues in a timely and practical manner
• Work closely with site management, commercial teams, and client representatives
• Help ensure projects are delivered in line with programme and quality requirements
• Maintain high standards of technical accuracy, record keeping, and team coordination

Requirements

• Previous experience in a senior engineering or managing engineer role within civils or groundworks
• Strong technical understanding of site delivery, QA, and setting out controls
• Experience managing or mentoring engineering teams on live construction projects
• Good communication and coordination skills
• Ability to operate confidently in a fast-paced project environment
• Relevant engineering and site qualifications would be advantageous
