Planning Engineer – Major Civils & Structures

Enable Resourcing is recruiting for a Planning Engineer to join a leading civil engineering contractor delivering major civils and structural works in Seascale, Cumbria.

This role will support the planning and programming of complex infrastructure and structural packages, ensuring projects are delivered in line with programme requirements and key milestones.

You will work closely with project and site teams to develop, monitor and maintain detailed programmes that support safe, efficient and timely project delivery.

Key Responsibilities

As Planning Engineer, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining accurate project programmes and supporting effective programme control across multiple work fronts.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Developing and maintaining detailed construction programmes

• Sequencing works in line with project milestones and delivery strategy

• Monitoring site progress and updating programmes to reflect changes

• Identifying delays, risks and mitigation strategies

• Producing short-term and long-term programmes

• Tracking progress against key milestones

• Supporting resource and logistics planning

• Attending planning and progress meetings

• Producing regular planning and performance reports

• Supporting delay analysis where required

• Assisting with tender and pre-construction programming

You will work closely with Project Managers, Engineers and Commercial teams to ensure programme performance is maintained and risks are proactively managed.

About You

To be considered, you will have:

• Experience as a Planning Engineer or in a similar planning role within civil engineering or construction

• Understanding of construction sequencing and programme management

• Experience working on major civils or structural projects (desirable)

Desirable:

• Experience using Primavera P6 or Microsoft Project

• Construction or Engineering qualification

Required:

• CSCS card

You will be organised, analytical and proactive, with the ability to interpret programme data and support effective project decision-making.
