Project Engineer – Major Civils & Structures

Enable Resourcing is recruiting for an experienced Project Engineer to join a leading civil engineering contractor delivering major civils and structural works in Seascale, Cumbria.

This is an excellent opportunity to play a key technical role in the delivery of complex infrastructure and structural packages, supporting projects from planning through to completion.

The role offers a hybrid working arrangement, combining three days on site with two days working from home.

Key Responsibilities

As Project Engineer, you will coordinate engineering activities across civil engineering and structural works, ensuring technical delivery aligns with programme, design and quality requirements.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Reviewing drawings and technical documentation

• Managing design queries and liaising with design consultants

• Ensuring works are buildable, compliant and delivered to specification

• Supporting planning and sequencing of works

• Monitoring progress across multiple work fronts

• Overseeing site engineers and coordinating engineering teams

• Managing inspections, testing and quality control processes

• Ensuring accurate as-built records and engineering documentation

• Supporting procurement of materials and subcontractors

• Assisting with programme reporting and technical progress updates

• Ensuring compliance with health and safety standards

• Supporting preparation and implementation of RAMS

You will work closely with Project Managers, Planners and Commercial teams to ensure smooth coordination across all aspects of project delivery.

About You

To be considered, you will have:

• Proven experience as a Project Engineer or Senior Engineer within civil engineering or major infrastructure projects

• Experience delivering major civils and/or structural works

• Strong technical understanding of civil engineering construction processes

• Experience coordinating multidisciplinary teams

Required:

• CSCS card

Desirable:

• SMSTS or SSSTS

• Civil Engineering qualification

You will be technically strong, organised and proactive, with the ability to manage engineering delivery within a structured project environment.
