Senior Quantity Surveyor – Major Civils & Structures

Enable Resourcing is recruiting for an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join a leading civil engineering contractor delivering major civils and structural works in Seascale, Cumbria.

This is an excellent opportunity to play a key role in the commercial management of complex infrastructure and structural packages, working within a high-performing project team on significant schemes.

The role offers a hybrid working arrangement, combining three days on site with two days working from home.

Key Responsibilities

As Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will take full commercial responsibility across projects from pre-construction through to completion and final account.

Your duties will include:

  • Managing applications for payment and interim valuations

  • Preparing cost reports, forecasts and project budgets

  • Producing CVRs and commercial performance reports

  • Managing subcontractor procurement, negotiation and account administration

  • Overseeing variations and change control processes

  • Identifying commercial risks and implementing mitigation strategies

  • Supporting contract administration and client liaison

  • Negotiating and agreeing final accounts

  • Mentoring junior commercial team members where required

You will work closely with Project Managers, Engineers and Senior Management to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time and within budget.

About You

To be considered, you will have:

  • Proven experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor or Quantity Surveyor within civil engineering or infrastructure projects

  • Experience delivering major civils and/or structural works

  • Strong commercial management and cost reporting experience

  • Knowledge of NEC or similar forms of contract (advantageous)

  • A relevant construction or Quantity Surveying qualification (desirable)

  • CSCS card (preferred)

You will be commercially astute, proactive and confident managing complex project packages.
