The Enable Group, formed from an MBO in July 2020 is formed around a infrastructure construction business focussed on rail and power. Our main business with in the group is, Enable Infrastructure (formerly BCM Construction), we have a Hire business, Resourcing business and a Design Consultancy, where this role sits.
Enable Design (formerly known as Equate Design) are specialists in high-quality, bespoke civil and electrical engineering design. Working closely with clients across multiple sectors, we leverage our teams’ deep expertise and experience to develop innovative solutions for projects.

Our employees understand and live by our values which breeds passion and quality to the forefront of performance where our culture is fair and good work is rewarded.Having secured a number of long term Frameworks with key clients, Enable Design are further expanding our Design team with Design Manager/Project Manager who can lead a small team of Engineers and projects to deliver on works. We have a number of positions available at various levels for design professionals who are committed to delivering the optimum design solution, building on their experience, and furthering their professional development.
Projects can typically include Rail works, ancillary civils, station and depot structures, platform extensions, substation works, drainage, cable routes and other civils, structural and electrical works.
The Design Manager/PM will be expected lead the design team and to work within a multi discipline design and engineering services team, specifically working on drainage and general civils works including rail, structures/buildings and other infrastructure works. You will lead an end-to-end project cycles to ensure safe delivery of the project to time, cost and quality requirements.
The Design/Project Manager will ensure projects are delivered in accordance with the terms of the contract, produce contract programmes within the timescales set out by the contract, providing the client with contractually determined progress updates. You will produce a weekly programme update with assistance from Project Planners and take responsibility for ensuring projects are delivered in compliance with the Design IMS.
Here’s What You’ll Need:
Qualifications:
- Degree or equivalent in a relevant discipline – Civil Engineering
- Member or actively working towards Professional Membership of an applicable engineering institution (e.g. ICE, etc.)
- Experience as a Project Manager in a Design consultancy environment
- Experience as a Design Manager working on rail civils and electrical projects
- Experience of managing the whole design process including NR Grip stages from start to finish
- Railway experience with both, Network Rail (required) and London Underground (preferred)
- Experience in Primavera P6
- Good knowledge of railway and general civil engineering standards including Eurocodes, BS, NR, RSSB, TSI
- You must have the permanent right to work in the UK at the time of hire.
